I have a 328i and the alarm (factory) was tripped on it. Now when I press the activation button it chirps 3 times and nothing happens. The doors doesn't lock and the alarm is not activated. Is there a way to correct by the remote. How can I correct this?
Thanks for help.

Something similiar like this happened to me, take apart your alarm keychain and see if anything is broken off or falling out of anything. That might be your problem, or some wires in the alarm. Could also be something wrong with a door? I dont know, maybe your car thinks the door is still open, try opening and closing all your doors and stuff, maybe mess around with the door hinges, just throwing some ideas at you.
I hope it helps.

first you have to make sure all the doors are closed then th ehood and trunk and also the gsa door try it again if that still dosent work theres a little silver tabsticking up from a black box on the left side of the engine compartment (if your in front if the car). try playing with how this is bent and make sur it contacts otherwise the car thinks the hood is open. three chirps means one of your doors is open

Same thing happened to me.
Three chirps.
It was that silver tang on the switch on the left side (looking at it) under the hood, just like DRKRVRND666 says.
I think I caught it with a rag wiping the engine down and bent it.
Open the hood, hold the switch down with your finger and then see if your remote works.
Also check on your hood where it meets the switch, there is (or should be) a round plastic bumper that pushes on that tang.
If that is missing tha will also cause it not to activate when the hood is closed.
