I have a 330i with the performance package. One of my rear wheels has some curb rash. I'm going to send that wheel out to get repaired. In the meantime, I am planning to purchase a full 18' sized spare tire (that dounut in my trunk is useless). According to the BMWUSA web site, I have 225/40R fronts and 255/35R sized rear wheels. I wish to purchase a spare wheel that can be used for both front and rear duties. Would a 225/40R sized wheel work in both the front and the back? What size wheel should I be shopping for? My tires are the Pilot Sports, can I use the wheel on either side (left or right) of the car???

Also, will the OEM M3 18's fit the ZHP? Will any modifications or spacers be required? I'm only asking because everyone on e46fanatics seems to be selling a set. The M67 and M68s are on my short list for winter wheels. And just to be sure, can anyone confirm that the M68s will fit also?

Thank you for any help or information.

BTW: If anyone is wondering ZHP type M135 rims in size 225/40R are ~$480 each.

FYI, in the normal Sport Package the spare wheel is the front 225/45/17 wheel. The 245/40/17 rear wheel will fit the front but there maybe some slight rubbing at the extreme. Your 255/35/17 sounds a little wide for front use. :dunno:

I currently run 235/40/17's all around with no issues.

YMMV

Yes, the front 225 will fit the rear. Remember, it is only a spare, and you have to take it easy because on the other side of the axle you'll still have the 255. This is one of the reasons why some go to a non-staggered setup. The OEM m3 rears will not fit your car,but you can buy 4 fronts and they fit. Just be sure to swap out the tires, since the m3 tires have a larger profile (225/45/18, compared to 225/40/18 on the 330. The m68's will fit perfectly, but I haven't heard of the m67's.

Thanks for the tips 330iGT. I maybe wrong but I believe style m67 rims are the current rims that come on the M3.
