Hi.. I am sorry, i don't know the answer to your question. Try to Google it? However, i am very interrested in knowing if this chip you are putting in will have any effect. I have thought about buying me one of those chips, but after reconsidering i just dropped it. I used to be a mechanic a few years ago, and what i learned was that a chip will have little to no effect on a normally aspirated engine (None turbo).

So please share your opinion after you have it installed.

Best of luck!

It is in the DME located in the rear corner of the engine compartment passenger side. Be warned you may not pass emissions if you install it. My 525 have enough problems with the original ecu. I bought a chip El Cheapo from fleabay and have to take it out.

Check out Turner Motorsports for chips/info. They (IMHO) make the best E34 chips. Add HP/Torque, and raise the rev limit.

I have an E34 530i Turner chip for sale if anyone is intrested - see my sig.

Front left, facing your car, under a black plastic cover (assuming your E34 is like my old '95 530i).

There are several units there...ECU/DME (main control module), transmission control, etc.

Look in this general area:

And the ECU under the plastic cover (it's three or four screws to remove the cover, IRRC), look something like this:

A good chip will make a difference.
