'08 4.8 X5 Dash creaks when cold

Anyone else having dash creaks or tick sounds when its cold and the heat is on? Any fix? Also getting a intermittant fan rattle sometimes. Driving me crazy....

I got that too and it bugs the ##!!! out of me. The dealer said it's normal with the auto climate control as it adjusts to the proper temperature. My clicking sounds started at the end of the summer. The dealership checked and found nothing wrong. I guess I'll just deal with it or maybe call some other dealerships to see if they know of a solution. My dealer seemed pretty uninterested which irritated me even more.

Yeah thats BS. This is my 4th X5. Three 1st generation and all had automatic climate control. What it is as far as I can tell is the cheap plastic they are using contracting and expanding as the heater heats the airducts up. I bought this X5 late last spring and never really used the heater until oct-Nov. My 2001, 2005 0r 2006 1st Gen never did it. If I could find a really low miles 2006 4.8is. I would buy it in a heart beat.

Yes, same here. I thought it was normal and I've learnt to live with it. Mine is 2008 3.0si

I'll bring it to the dealer's attention on my next visit.
