Does anybody know the current wait time if I were to custom order an z5 now? I live in NYC? I was told 3-4 weeks, but that sounds aggressive to me.

I don't see why not, it only takes them a week to build an X5. If you have a production slot, I don't see why not. Mine was built in that time frame.

I got my 2007 X5 in four weeks from the time I ordered it to delivery.

Ordered 2009 X5 4.8 on November 22,2008, just got the call this week (Monday) that my car is at the dealer and ready to be picked up.

I'm also in NYC.

Dealer ordered my 2008 X5 in September 30, 2007
went into production in October 1, and delivered in Oct 11.

Mine built during last week of June 2008, on a truck that following Monday and arrived at dealer that Saturday. All in, 17 days from production to delivery.
