I have my radiator out on my E36 M3.

Should I expect an expansion tank with the ETD aluminum radiator and if not how critical is a new expansion tank, I like to go quality but have to watch money.

Why would you have to drain the entire system? The block coolant should be fine left alone right?

I found out that to loosen the fan on 3 cars the best tool is a thin screwdriver about 7" long as you can wedge it against the pulley housing and a nut and lock it straight above near the metal above the therm housing. Play around it is a sweet trick IMHO. I just used a cresent wrench on the 32m and it had foam on it to cushion the soft blow, real easy.

I've heard of old expansion tanks ($70) bursting because they can't handle the pressure. It's not critical, but it could leave you stranded.
Also, flush all the coolant. If it's near 2 years old, it gets bad and starts corroding your head and waterpump. BMW coolant is about $20 and could be substituted for something cheaper. Just ask AutoZone/Kragen etc....

I wont sub cheaper antifreeze and I did go ahead and get a new expansion tank for about $55 from Bavauto.com.

CX Racing Radiators to not match up real well on the E36 cars. You need to cut into plastic and aluminum brackets.

I might leave negative feedback but the unit itself appears good. We will see.

Thanks
