would E46 M3 rims fit an X3? 19"x8.5" and 19"x9.5", M3 Offset.

Since I have just been researching this myself, I can give you this information. The wheel would physically bolt on with no problem. The front wheel would probably be fine with the inside clearance next to the strut being the exact same, however the wheel would protrude out 12mm farther than your current wheel (less than an inch), so probably would look and work fine. The rears would be quite different since the offset on a 9.5" E46 M3 is only 22mm. That would give you 5mm more clearance by the struts but push the wheel out a whopping 43mm (1.5 inches) from factory (assuming you have 8" width rims currently). Even if you have 9" rears like what I have, the E46 offset would still push the new wheel out 35mm.

If you were buying replicas like what I am looking at doing, then you can get the same style wheel in a variety of offsets and your not stuck with whatever the original OEM rim was built for. Apparently, you are probably looking at putting on OEM rims though.

From what I can tell 5 series xi wheels and E90 wheels have offsets similar to the X3 and should work. The OEM X3 rear offset on a 9"wheel is 51. The Rear offset for an 9" rim on the E60 xi is 55, and on the E90, it is 37. The E60 xi's should fit almost perfectly, while the E90's will extend out 14mm.

The X3 uses 14mm bolts, whille the E69 and E90 use 12mm. I don'y know if the bolt holes on the X3's wheels are slightly larger or not.

Perhapss Gary might know.

Good luck
