Something new I've found, but probably everyone knows about this except me. If so, sorry!

I found two air ducts in my baby that connect the grille area of the front bumper to the front brakes. It is not too visible but they are there. I feel better to have them every time I brake in this hot weather :)

I really doubt if a 3-series sedan without a grille would have the same feature.

BTW, does anyone know if the bottom piece (are they called side skirts?) underneath the side doors are metal or plastic?

Thanks!

they are plastic. in fact they are snap on to the body!

coworker found out in horror as he scrapped the side work clearing a island in the parking lot. he was thrilled and pissed all at the same time to see that the piece just snapped off the car when he hit the island, but pissed when he realized that the car has snap on parts!

Actually, my 2003 sedan has working cooling ducts. I just checked to be sure. I will post pics once I get to my camera at work...

Actually it's nice to know the car has snap-in parts. Makes body work much easier. However, I think these new alumimum frames are going to be very expensive to fix.

Yes we found out that there are indeed ducts on the sedan as well.
