I turn off the master climate control button and then turn off the vehicle and upon return after time lapse of about 30 minutes the climate setting has reverts to setting prior to me turning off the master control? If I come allow only 5 min and then start, its all good the setting is still off.. I like to get in the car with nothing turned on. Dealer had no clue on this one and advisor told me his 07 does the same thing..I don’t think so…Anyone experience this?

I have an 05 545i. The climate control definitely has a mind of its own. Typically, it knows what it is doing. But it pretty much seems to do what it wants. I would not doubt at all that the issue you described is "normal", I just haven't tried it.

for example, when you have the A/C or heater on and then turn it off while in route;when you start your car after it sits a bit, will the system auto turn on for you or will it be a fresh start with the power to the system/vents still off?

If you turn it off, it will stay off as long as you restart before the computer goes to sleep. Once it goes to sleep it will revert back to the default setting.

The climate control in my 535 is probably the one thing I don't like about the car. That and maybe the cupholders, but I can live with ****ty cupholders.

The fan should be left on.
It keeps the duct dried out and free of the common musty smell issue.
It is a good idea to turn off the A/C a few miles from your destination and run just the fan too.
I am not sure why anyone would want to drive a car with recirculated cabin air. The car has micron filters and using the fan makes sense.

+1
All modern BMW's 98+ have this as default settings, computer goes to sleep, you start the car, climate control is on.

That***8217;s cool, I will leave it on. I just did not want to cause any unnecessary stress on the car by starting with the fan / AC unit on. I appreciate the feedback.
