View Full Version : Don't point URLs to "bimmerfest.com"?

For reasons that I will not go into, I have to browse the site using bimmerfest.org, rather than .com. Mostly, it works without a hitch. But some URLs point specifically to "bimmerfest.com" (e.g., the "View New Posts" link, and the logo and nav bar on the upper left), making these unusable for someone coming in through one of the other domain names.

It's a bandaid fix, but you ought to be able to add an entry to your hosts file to point www.bimmerfest.com to 216.7.191.102 (which is what both bimmerfest.com and .org resolve to).

Actually, the problem was created by modifying the host file some time ago; since then the admins have restricted access to this file, meaning I can't undo what I did (and what no longer works).
