Hmmm....
Hmm, this one doesn't have the Zorro crease of the one I posted the other day.
And of course, being a Touring, it can't have a Bangle-Butt.
Make it a M, put a SMG in it, and I may have to make a home for one.

That's the cool part about the Touring. They can't mess with the rear design.
But you never know, Designworks is full of geniuses :eeps:

Sure he can. Doesn't anyone else see too many lines behind the rear wheel? Am i the only one who doesn't like those rear lights? And i'm not sure i like the flow of the bottom panel...seems like it's a bit too artsy. Alas, it's just CGI, so who knows how it'll end up. We can all pray...
I don't see how you could have less lines on the rear quarter panel (and it's not any more than on my car). The lights seem fine (better than the unharmonious X3 ones) except for that odd wedge on the leading edge. I don't particularly care for the curve in the rocker panel either, but that can't be helped on a Banglized car.

Not bad.. I sort of like it-- but could do without the bumper reflectors (why is BMW obsessed w/ these), and the saturn-like swoop. The front fender looks nice and muscular.
Doesn't matter anyway--generally, the photo*****ped pics of new BMW models look way better than the real thing. Maybe BMW should recruit some new designers from the internet. :) And, even if the back and side look like this pic, I'm sure the front will be a horror show of Pontiac kidneys, wierd air-intake shape, strange headlight/blinker shapes, disruptive cut-lines, etc. Not to mention the fact that it will probably have an ugly, cheap interior w/ poor ergonomics/functionality. I really hope I'm wrong.

Have you never seen the rear of a E36 Touring? It can be done!! LOL :yikes:

Oh well, we won't see it in the US anyway

Errr, E36 touring was not a Designworks product.

That's the best looking E90 image I've seen yet. Now if only the guy who did that CGI could be given responsibility for the design of the car.

It is amazing that these CGIs almost always look better than the actual final product. And, the designers who do these things probably only spend a few days on them. BMW has years, and they still manage to make it look like they did the final design in less than a day.

At least these photos look better than the spy shots of the E60 and E65. I have a little hope that the new series might look okay. I thought that my E46 would be the last BMW I ever buy, but now...?

not so amazing, really, when you consider that the CGI artists aren't bound by things like functionality/driving dynamics/engineering analyses...

Good point-- although the types of details that i'm thinking of that separate the nice-looking CGIs from the bad-looking final products are often not that big. I could see things like the height, width, ride height, length, wheelbase, etc that would affect the functionality/driving/safety-- but I'm talking more about items like pontiac shaped kidney grilles/weird cutlines/humback trunks/weird light-fixture shapes/etc. And, with other carmakers (like Audi), and previous BMWs, I often liked the final product better than the CGIs.

It's also not only the functionality, but the packaging. Perhaps by making the gorgeous curve they no longer have room for something else. Nowadays one opens the hood and there is just no room... every bit of space has been taken. That said, often times it IS just that they picked an ugly design.
I like the wagon in that picture... it looks pretty good. But is it just me or is the cargo area even SMALLER than before? I also hope we do get a 330i this time around. Because a slushy 325 with AWD is just way too slow once it has full cargo.

Considering that the side glass profile is 100% stolen from the E46 for that CG, plus the fact that the E90 is supposed to be slightly larger than the E46, I don't think it'll be smaller. And if they do a better job of not wasting some of that space (for example it's easily possible to have an additional ~3" of depth in the current car's cargo area) they should be able to get a bit more space in.

...and how 'bout they throw in a v-8 and AWD? Oh wait, that would be the S4 wagon.
Nice to know the wagon is essentially immune to Banglification.
I like it... kinda reminds me of a high-heeled shoe with that swooping baseline...

Could be worse, would be nice if we got a 330 touring.

All I can say is--- Thank goodness Audi makes good looking products with V8's to boot. Yikes.
