yep, rrsperry's post pretty much sums it up. Unless you meant you had 9 grand to spend on insurance, I doubt anyone will write you a policy for a sports car without first giving up your right arm and left leg.

Not saying it's going to be a killer, but you should just have an idea about what it may cost, besides the car.

As the E36 M3 get older, more and more kids can buy them. Since they really don't have the requisite skills to drive, they crash. This lead insurers to raise the rates for the rest of us, and the car in general... The upside is that after you crash, there will be fewer and fewer, so mine will eventually get more valuable.

You want some maintenance nightmares? get the E34 M5... The S38 is one very expensive lump to fix if you break it.

The E46? it's an E46... nuf said...Good or bad...

hey, im 17 as welll, and i have a e46. i love the car its great, i would stick to it. just dont be dumb and mess us and crash lol. because they are DEFF a BMW (break my wallet) lol.
