I know its 90 degrees out right now, but....... I want to start researching and budgeting for my winter tire/wheel needs.

I am looking to buy an extra set of rims and new snow tires for my new 2003 330i ZHP. What about:

Wheel size? stay with the stock 18" size or go to a differnt size?

Tires?

Thanks!!

Go with a 17 inch wheel and tire combo-- if you want an original BMW wheel, pick out a 17" E46 wheel (any one will do). To keep the car looking as stock as possible, you might want to find a set of M68's, although I don't recommend staggered wheels for winter use.

Agree. Also we'll test fit some 16" wheels to see if we can find one that will clear the brakes as well. If they do clear it would be more economical and more effective in snow to run 16".

Once they're test fitted we'll have the results here :

Or you can check back mid to late September.

I would definitely get a set of OEM from someone selling them and use them for winter . . . a great choice would be the type 79 or type 73's . .. they aren't the most aggressive looking but most of the time they come with a 205/50/17 all-season tire that can be used in the snow
