With my car comes an old version of Italy Map CD-Rom.
I found on eMule 2003-2 database: could someone tried to burn a new CD-Rom using the old one simply replacing database file (carindb)?
Old db file is about 300.000Kbytes, the new one is about 500.000kbytes...
Thanks.

However, you should be able to find a complete CD and burn it. I just did a quick eDonkey search and found "BMW Navtech navigation Map Italy 2003-1.zip". The 2003-2 Europe DVD is also out if you have a DVD drive.
How old is your car? In the US we get at least one update free...

Do you have the DVD NAV reader on the car ? If so, talk to BMW Customer Relations, Italy and tell them that you didn't receive the DVD CD with the car. Collect the information from the Customer Service (name, number etc.) and give this info to your dealer (i.e your Sales Advisor) and demand the DVD CD.
Normally, BMW is supposed to give the DVD CD with the DVD NAV player. I have this information recently and I'm getting my DVD copy tomorrow and this free of charge of course.

Terry,
I tried by burning CD: i see correctly the new map but Autopilot doesnt run correctly (appears "Unable to start autopilot" on the map"). I don't know why: suggestions?
I'm downloading also 1,2Gbytes of Europe.... but I think it's not as accurate as Italy 2003-02 wich is on e-Donkey.
thanks

Terry, Alex,
do you know if SW version 4-1/12 could read DVD maps correctly?
I have tried to use the new Europe 2003-2 DVD but it's impossible to use it: appears "Wrong CD/DVD" on the screen.
I've tried bundled DVD of the new 5-sereis Businness Navigator.
thanks in advance.

I've answered myself.... ;)
There are two different DVD version.
Part number 65900300692 is Europe DVD for E60, 65900300691 is Europe DVD for E46, 5 series (old version), 7 series.
The E46 version actually seems it's impossible to find..... maybe in August (in Italy).
Alex, could you please post the part number of your DVD when you check it runs correctly?
Thanks.

P/N 65 90 0 300 691 is correct for our E46 but from what I've been told in BMW Italia it is getting available in the part department only in these days... untill now they had only the 692... useless for us.
I've been discussing with them last month about getting a free 2003-2 DVD disk instead of my CD (my car is a november 2002) but i hadn't any luck... there is a bullettin stating that the owners of the cars delivered before june 2003 get the CD and IF they want the DVD disk it should be ordered and purchased separately.
Of course I was and am
And E-mule or any other "alternative source" haven't showed anything useful... BUT I will keep checking...

I've got the 2003-02 DVD too.
But - sic - it has Europe database (about 1,4 GBytes) with the same updates of 2003-1 single cd!!!!
At least for the Italy.
2003-2 CD has new and updated maps: I've burned it on a DVD, and it's 3 times faster.....

sarastro,
on E-Mule you can find 1,2GBytes image of DVD (but Italy Maps are 2003-1, updated 2002, August 28). I think for other states it's the same.
But you can find also Italy 2003-2 CD.
