Hey guys, I searched, but found nothing helpful.

I took my OBC out the other day and unplugged it to do some other stuff on my car. But, when I plugged it back in and I went to set the time and date, the amber lights weren't working! I can see the outlines of the time and date, its just not being lit up. So when you look at it at about an eye level you can see the black numbers just barely.

What happened? I checked the wires to see if any of them broke or if I ruined anything, but nope, it looks good to me.

Thanks guys.

Is it the clock only? If so, then the light bulb behind the clock is burned out. I had the same thing happen. New light bulb and I could see the clock fine. I wouldn't think that all 4 bulbs would go out at once if none of the OBC lights are working.

Yeah its just the clock bulb. Do I have to solder in a new one?

Yeah I read that DIY daays ago. If I had to resolder it, then I was just gonna change them all to a diff. led color.

if you have the time and patience go change all the interior lights, (instrument cluster, obc, ac controls, and every little switch). But imo its too much hassle, get a new bulb and be done with it.

Yeah, I read about the process.... too much time and steady hands to do that. I don't have any of those traits.

But IMO it would be cool to have different color interior lights. But worth the time? Maybe if it was a show car...

Did it in the Celica. The cluster took a couple of hours, a broken soldering gun, much frustration.... awesome results, but not really worth the effort. I don't think I'll ever do it again.

Yeah, it would suck if I messed something up. I would hate the hassle. My hands are always so shaky, I wouldn't be able to do that at all.

Try vodka. That was what my friend and I ended up doing. The project became even harder till we said screw it and went swimming instead. Project was completed the next day. Swimming was much more fun.

Beer is nasty.
