I am new

I have a 1994 318is, and i am trying to replace the stock front speakers....

Crutchfield.com says that the front speakers are 5 1/4" and the back ones are 4"

I dont know the difference between tweeters, and all that, so any help is appreciated

they dont seem like 5 1/4"...can anyone tell me what size to buy to replace these?

Those look like the tweeters. The front speakers are in the kick panels below the glove box to the right and below the steering wheel to the left. You have to look under because I didnt notice them either until I really looked.

How many door speakers do you have total?

1 in each front door or 2 in each front door?

5" 1/4 are up front in this location.

The ones you have a photo is a Mid-rage speaker that is on the door.

A) Go down the drivers side of the DS tunnel.
B) Run the wires from the HU down past the OBC, to the gear shift and down into the carpet. Run straight back along the tunnel to the rear seat. Under rear seat, up to the drivers side rear seat. Pull off the side bolster, there's some rubber grommets you can run the wires through.

Dammit, just realized you're in Australia. I don't know if you're RHD or LHD. If you're RHD, then yeah, everything above will be passenger side, not drivers.

Speaker question
Installed Dice ipod in E39 540it (bus. rad.,no dsp)
It fell apart (case opened, circuit boards fell out)
It has been replace, but I have had a random "POP" in the speakers since it broke. Radio on or off, not related to phone or brake or turnsignal or wiper - just POP every couple minutes, even with all sound off.
HELP!!

You're in the E36 section bro. That's a question for the E39ers, or better yet, the Audio forum.

But, sounds like they're grounding out somewhere. Are you using RCAs for any of the connections? If you've got metal on the ends other than the plug itself, they could be causing it, or a wire could have rubbed the insulation off.
