So, I just found out my "new" 95 325i has a cracked radiator. I want to order the part myself and get it installed. What's the best place to order from? I searched online and found one for $125 including shipping from radiatorswarehouse.com, also found one on bimmerspecialist.com for $165 plus shipping.

Since I'm a BMW Dummy, help me out here. I don't care about hi-perf or anything... this is a daily driver car with 86K on it. Would like something that will last though.

Also should I get the thermostat and housing replaced when they replace the radiator? Anything else I should replace at the same time? I don't know anything about the maintenance on the car other than it has a new alternator and battery.

Thanks! :)

Get a brand name one off ebay... I know it's ebay.. but I got mine off of there I think mine is a neissan or something like that and it's lasted 4 years of torture and still looks brand new. I think i spent like $80 shipped :dunno: and dont pay to have it put in. It is a very simple job that requires a screwdriver and some kind of container to catch the fluid.. Up to you but it's pretty strait forward and it will save you a couple bucks. Hope this helps.

eBay for a new Behr Radiator

OR

eBay for a Mishimotor(sp?) aluminum radiator for ~200. Fitment is stellar and all aluminum!

If you decide not to DIY it, make sure the shop you're planning on taking it to will do installs. Some places won't do the repair if they haven't ordered the part(s) themselves, i.e. if you bring them your part to save you money, they'll turn you away.

1-800-Radiator is pretty reasonable. They deliver too.

Yeah, I tried the 1800radiator thing, they were $199. Best price I can find is around 150. Think I'm gonna go ahead and get that one, it's a Nissens.

Hubby may replace it himself but the shop is owned by a family member so it's all good.:)
