I need a flathead and a phillips screwdriver for my skis when i'm in europe. I can't remember, are both of these in the car? I seem to remember a screwdriver that had both flathead/phillips on opposite ends. Is this still the case?

Ja, it's in the toolbox. That will save you 30 g in weight.

Rent skis and boots save even more weight.

Every gram counts in the goal to stay under airline weight restrictions. I carry on my boots... I'd rent, but a comfortable ski boot with precision performance is hard to come by.

thx

I agree about taking your own boots. I'm also fussy about tools, so if you need something special you might want to carry one of the "micro" fold-up tool sets with a good phillips and straight-blade. Available at Nordic ski shops and bicycle shops.
