can anyone recommend a good cleaner for the black trim on the outside of a 325xi. and also for the interior parts that are plastic and places like the stereo system and the two compartments underneath that.

Your going to use two different products for what you are asking...on the inside..you can use any decent APC...mix that 1 part APC to 10 parts water...its mild and will not harm anything...to clean spray the solution on a MF towels and wipe away...that will clean about anything you are after....do not spray the cleaner direct on the area that you are cleaning...you can never tell what will happen.

Question on the trim on the car...is there wax buildup in it or are you looking to get it clean of dirt buildup?

for the trim i think its mostly wax but im assuming that theres some dirt build up. for the APC what exactly is that. is there a product that i can buy im feeling a little hesitaant on the APC since you said you never know what will happen.

For wax build up on your outside trim...I would suggest...Poorboys World Trim Restore...use that with a tooth brush and it will remove all the wax and restore the trim back to new...If you want to try a home product...use peanut oil on a tooth brush it will remove the wax in the trim....then wash right after to get the oily stuff off...I really suggest the trim restore...it cleans and protects at the same time

APC is all purpose cleaner...a degreaser if you will...I mix it very mild so that it will not harm anything in the car...the only reason that I suggested that you not spray it direct onto the surface...its a precaution...had I not said that someone might have decided to spray the whole dash down until its dripping off the console...trust me in the 30 years I've detailed cars I've seen a lot!

what I have suggested will not harm your car in any way

Over the counter like hardware stores and such.

The best APC that I've used to date is P&S Car Care and Poorboys...

For P&S Enviro-Clean, total citrus based cleaner that will last a long time

Poorboys

Again if you do buy OTC...or online...just mix on a 10 to 1 water to APC

No for inside use always mix with water...its safer that way....the two that I have suggested are very strong cleaners, mix them as suggested..best part is that they will last you a long time...I clean a lot of cars and a gallon lasts months...I would buy in the quart for you

dboy i have read lots of threads in the last couple of weeks and i can agree that you really like the poorboy line of products. I am getting that feeling that i should buy the product and test it myself. i will take in consideration the APC dilution and try it on my cars. thanks

Wolf...if I can call you that?:D

I have used his line for the last 8 years...I have found products that are better and a lot that aren't as good...what I have enjoyed about PB is that its consistent in quality, finish, its easy to use by machine and hand...you can work with it in the sun if needed..and bang for the buck!

Steve @ PB is a rare mfger in the auto detailing biz...he is honest to the point of fault...and delivers a good line!
