Hi everyone. It's been a while since I logged on our forum. Ok, what is happening is:Under hard accelerate the car shuts off. It kind of feels like it's running out of gas :dunno: It only does it when I jump on it. After it shuts off it doesn't want to start right away. When I accelerate easy everything seams fine. What can that be? Has anyone Experienced this before. Thank you for your time and thanks for any inputs.

No I didn't not! yeah I understand where you guys are coming from but what got me puzzled is why it would need to seat for little before it would start again?

when you turn the once or twice(not the start position)can you hear the fuel pump, pump?... i think you can hear from under your seat... and if you hear it pump... then its your fuel filter. its probably all the junk thats holding all the gas back.

Yeah once it did that I pulled the fuel line off and when I crank the motor the fuel was coming out

Are you OBD II or still OBD I? Sounds to me like a weak fuel pump.

1995 325IS. Yeah I did think the something. but why it would not start after it dies? It's bothering me a lot. At first I thought it could be a some kind of sensor. like crank shaft sensor..

Well I asked because OBD II started in '95, but some cars were still sold with OBD I. Does it fire right up after 10 minutes? Or does it take a few tries?

Yes, if I wait 10 minutes it will start up like nothing is wrong.

I had another car act in a similar way and it was a clogged fuel filter. It's an easy and relatively inexpensive DIY. I would suggest trying that to rule it out. Let us know what it is once you figure it out.

had the same problem on a 325 i had before i got my 328i, all it was was the relay plug, change that and it will work, the mechanic wouldn't even charge me because he just put a used one in and it never ever did cut off again. its a little orange plug and it's about 30 dollars new, but the used one worked fine. i never had to replace it:angel:
