Was showing the bells and whistles off to a co-worker, and he asked a question I can't answer - Where is the sensor that tells the headlights to turn on automagically?

My guess is it's somewhere toward the rear, because I'm usually 80% into the garage before they click on, which used to scare me half to death.:yikes:

It is part of the rainsensor.

Well. That just seems too obvious. Sorry I didn't think of it myself!

The next obvious question: If a car doesn't have the automatic wipers, where is the headlight sensor? I dunno!

I didn't know you could have one without the other.

If I drive around in the X too long, I forget how to wipe my own windshield and turn on my own headlights in my poor plebian 3er.

That's exactly what happens to me! I thought I was becoming a princess - it's oh so much trouble to actually push or pull the buttons to make these things happen! Of course, to complete things for me, our 3-er also has this unusual third pedal .....
