ok I have a 96 328i that has a 5 speed and vanos but no acs. tracking. but the car had an engine fire. so I bought a parts car 97 328i auto and acs tracking. my question is will the wiring harness from the auto work on my 96 5 speed, or will i burn up my ecu??

lol, Sorry to hear about your car though. I just like how you added vanos in there as if it where an option.

From what I've read, it should be totally compatible.

(BTW, WTF is a piney and where are the sticks? Is that like the boonies?)

yes, the sticks are 'boonies'
a piney is one who lives in a shack, be it a trailer or other simple dwelling. some even have dirt floors.
three people on the streetcorner = a full set of teeth.
dentists are the only ones poorer than the locals.
pineys are upper class rednecks because our cars actually *do* run.
