When I have the hard top on, I get a knocking when I hit bumps in the road. It sounds like it is coming from the front, but can not narrow it down. If I unlock the front latch, I can not get it to knock. I know the back latches are adjustable, but is there an adjustment that can be made to the front?
Also there are two little flaps that cover the back latches and they are missing, does anyone know a name for these? I can not find them anywhere.
Thanks in advance. Can't wait for the sun to come back so I can go topless again....
BTW, does anyone know the true color name for this?

Sorry, I don't know anything about the hardtop, but you've got ArktisGrau, same thing I had. Should say it on your driver side strut tower.

Not sure on the adjustment on the front clamp/latch mechanism , but i'd have thought you'd be able to adjust something . The rear clamp/latch covers you're looking try ebay there's always loads listed here in the UK . JJ .

I need those rear covers.
Front is not adjustable to my knowledge. Are you sure it is coming from the front? I know when really cold the rear makes noises from the folded top and top cover.

Not positive, but when I pull down on the front handle while driving, it does not make a sound. Or if I just unlock the front a little the sound is not there either.
Search ebay for "BMW hardtop handle" all are in the UK and run about $40 US. Never purchased anything from outside the states, so we'll see...:dunno:

Thanks. Will look into it.
Try the dealer contacts first :)

I got my set of covers from BMW at the dealer for about 50dollars so if the shipping adds up to more then 50 think about checking the dealer first.
As for the top noise, my roof makes some noise but I think it is mostly due to the fact the the car is flexing and the hardtop is not and there for is making the noises you are hearing. You may also want to check out the condition of your weather stripping on both your car and the hardtop that could be adding to it as well.
