View Full Version : March US delievery for e60?
Stopped by Passport BMW today on the way home from Dahlgren to inquire about the e60. The rep said they've got a waiting list and I couldn't expect US delivery until March. Possibly even a March build depending on demand. Anyone else hearing similar things?

Wow. :yikes: That's one heck of a waiting list. Good for them. I guess they don't expect any large allocations in the next six months. I think that due to supply vs. demand initial supplies will be short, but I don't think that most dealerships are sold out that far in advance. I know we're not.

I had suspected it as a tactic to get me to move on an '03 in inventory. Thanks, Ted.

Is that strike still going on over there? That was effecting inventory.

My dealer in Central N.J. said the E60's are rolling off the assembly line right now and they expect to receive a few cars in mid-August right before the plant closes down for vacation.

Do you think demand is particularly high, or is just that sales were slow in advance of the new model, so you have a bunch of people that were waiting?

I just spoke with my CA about ordering a 545i for March delivery. He told me that I would be 21st on the list. In addition, he didn't know what their allocation would be, so even assuming 4 cars per month, he couldn't guarantee me a March delivery. This is from the largest dealership in Scottsdale with a high monthly allocation. Don't know if he was giving me a line or not. I'm not sure whether I should try another dealer (Cutter??)

In my opinion the demand is high primarily because you've got a great deal of people who are on their 2nd or 3rd 5 series lease. These people love the car, but are wanting a change so they're waiting for the E60 to arrive.
