Just out of curiosity...
I have a 330cic with the m-sport package... (Canadian) I'm told it pretty much includes everything the M has except for the engine (and the obvious discerning features).
I was told this included the suspension, which was a stage 2 suspension system.
I never really questioned it... but is this true? And what exactly is included in a stage 2 suspension over a stage 1 over stock?
I have to admit... i've never driven a car that ripped corners like the bimmer does... feel absolutely no flex or sway in the body... it's amazing...!!
thanks for the help.

My understanding is that BMW actually has TWO sport suspensions. Reportedly, the US only gets the stiffer of the two. I believe it's a change in shock and spring rates. (There's a thread buried somewhere in the archives that covers this.) Hence, you get a better suspension, but it's not from the M if that's what you're asking.

Actually, i guess my real question is what did i pay for??
What exactly came in the Canadian "m-sport" package that didn't come in the "sport" package or the stock suspension?
Search only turned up questions about what peeps wanted to upgrade...
so what did i pay for exactly?... cuz i love it!!

you paid for all the nice M goodies that come with it and not in the normal sport package. i got the M sport package special ordered on a U.S. spec 330Ci, i asked about the suspension too... apparently, the M sport has different shocks than the normal sport, but the springs are the same.... :dunno:

Just to be clear...
E46 M3 suspension is different from ANY of the E46 suspensions, sports, M-sports or otherwise. I checked with the ETK and the E46 M3 does not share ANY parts with regular E46es, no matter the package and destination.
All you're buying is the additional "///M" pieces like a few badges and the steering wheel and a different aerodynamic package, that's all. The suspension is identical to U.S. bound coupes or sedans with sports suspension.

If you check out www.bmw.ca and build a 330ci they list the m-sport parts that you get.
M Sport Package
"Includes: Sport Seats, Sport Suspension II, M Multi-Function Leather Sport Steering Wheel, M Aerodynamic Package, Includes M footrest and M door entry sill., High-Gloss Shadow Line, Black Aluminum Cube Trim, Anthracite Roof Liner, Wheels: 17" M Parallel Spoke Alloy 68M."
You also should have the m shift nob.
The suspension is not the same as the M3 but it is not the same as the regular 325 or 330 sport suspension either. Also I think the 320i has the regular suspension. I wish someone with a 330 would check the part number on their rear shock.

I guess that was all i wanted to confirm... that the suspension is a little different than the regular 325 or 330 sport suspension... stage 2 compared to stage 1 i guess?...
