I need some help with my Check Engine Light:

I am getting the following codes periodically (about every 90-300 miles between reset):
secondary air system flow too low, CYL#1-3
secondary air system flow too low, CYL#4-6
catalyst below efficiency CYL#1-3
catalyst below efficiency CYL#4-6

Some background Info:
1997 328I
Milage 118,000
TMS Shark Injector
ECIS CAI

Changed exhaust to Borla, changed Catalytic converter to DEC, Changed pre & post cat 02 sensors with Bosh (all approximately withing the last 24 months)
Replaced the Secondary Air Pump & Diverter valve, checked system at start up valve is operable (doesn't allow air flow pre-start up, allows air for limited time upon cold start, stops air flow) [SAS system replaced approximately 12 months ago]

Anybody have an idea? Im loosing it and am sick of breaking out the reset tool every few days.

Thanks

Paul....

Welcome to the Fest Paul.

It wouldn't surprise me if you can't get rid of the cat codes if you've got a hi-flow on there. Might be able to trick it somehow, though.

Maybe there's a leak in the hoses for the SAS? I hate all that extra BS. You could always look into removing it all and shorting some of the wires for the sensors for the SAS. Not that I would ever recommend that....

Has it been throwing a CEL ever since you replaced the SAS, or just recently?

Thanks for the reply :)

It has been throwing codes since before everything was replaced, i would guess about 2-1/2 years, the CAI and shark were done about 4 years ago, with no codes prior or 18-24 months after.

Yeah, the CAI and shark wouldn't affect it.

What about the cat? Were you getting the cat code before you replaced it? Was the SAS replaced with OEM parts, and all sensors hooked up and hoses connected?

Ah yes, the cat codes I didnt have any cat codes before replacement, however I had rotten egg exhaust and when I tried to replace the cat back the flange that connected the cat to the exhaust pipe fell off so I replaced the whole deal.

I was already having SAS errors at that point, all SAS parts were oem & new and connected properly.

not sure if it matters but codes always pop up when decelerating to stops :dunno:
