Hey what's up, I know this has probably been asked plenty of times but I'm using the internet on my phone and its a pain in the ash to try to find out if I am able to run a newer navi disk on my 2002 745i. I have the dvd drive in the trunk and I currently don't have a nav dvd so I want to buy one real bad. I know someone has to have some info so thanks in advance

Hey valbeatz, my phone is acting up, I tried sending you a message but it wouldn't go through. Just let me know how much we are talking about and if it would work for my 2002 through a pm since it would probably be easier for you

Hey, well my like I said yesterday, my phone is acting up, all I need is for someone to tell me if the newer nav dvds will work with at 2002 745i.

I can't say for sure that it will work, but I am installing a 2008 NAVI03 on my 2005 this weekend. If that goes well I will be selling my 2005 NAVI02 unit (with North America DVD).

If I am not mistaken, the 02,03 nav is cd based, and 04 newer is dvd based.

2002 - feb 03 was cd
march 03+ dvd

op if your nav drive looks like the one below then yours is cd based

Nah, I have the one with the DVD symbol on it. I would upload a pic but I use the internet on my phone and it won't let me do it. I'm probably just going to have to end up going to the dealer and see what they say

I have the 2002 Navi disc.
Can someone post a pic of the 2009 Navi Display for the 02 745i.
sorry I just wanna see how the display is changed in the newer ones :)

that means bmw replaced the cd nav unit because the previous owner was experiencing problems with it.

Ok so what dvd can I use then since I have the nav dvd player? I would prefer the most up to date disk if possible
