I need some help! I just purchased a new X3 with the "premium" stereo which has DSP, plus I had the dealer install the Ipod Interface. I'm trying to tweak the sound of my music cause overall the volume is just a bit too low. If I preset my songs with EQ settings, does that get played back through the dock connector with those EQ settings? Also, does the DSP feature cancel out EQ settings? I'm not really sure if the DSP is some sort of EQ in itself.. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

DSP is an EQ... Kinda. DSP stands for Digital Sound Processing. It changes your EQ settings to make the sound appear more life like, and fully staged in front.

Your dock connector on the iPod/iPhone will NOT transfer any EQ settings or other preferences. It is the same thing that makes the volume on the iPod not work when connected like this.

The dock connector sends a line out signal from the iPod, not a headphone out, or amplified out. All the settings should be delt with on the car radio, not the iPod.
