Here's the scoop - I currently have 18.0" x 8.00" front, 18.0" x 9.50" rear wheels with 245/40ZR18 and 275/35ZR18 tires. I want to get winter tires that would fit this wheels.

As far as I can see, Pirelli WinterSport 240 come in a couple of sizes that are not identical but close: 265/35R18 for rear wheels and 245/45R18 or 235/40R18 for the front pair.

Can I put narrower 265/35 on the rear wheels and 235/40 on the front ones?

I'm trying to avoid getting separate winter wheels, I want to use the original wheels for winter and maybe get me a set of dedicated 19'' wheels for summer fun.

Yes, this 235/40 and 265/35 sizing is the way to go if you'd like to keep the same wheels. You can even use 245/40R18 all around, but the tire will look pretty stretched on the 9.5" wide wheel.

That's great to hear and thanks for your speedy reply. But I am curious, are there any downsides associated with downsizing?

Less protection from curb damage if you scape up against a curb... a bit less dry handling, but better for snow!

If I can help you when you're ready, just let me know, or you can order online at :
