Hi guys i recently bought a 98 m3 while i was home on leave from iraq. the only mod it has currently is HID low beams on it. I have 1,000$ to spend to upgrade this vehicle and im looking predominantly towards performance but making things look pretty never hurts. so the challenge for you guys hit me up with what you would do with the money...please be specific give me manufacturers and what not thanks for the help guys.

Conforti flash program (Shark) sold by Turner Motor Sports
Conforti or other good air cleaner just be sure it will clear your HIDs
CD43 business radio replacement
Just a few suggestions

BB EXHAUST and a TMS performance chip. you could get about 29 Hp and 24TQ with that set up. thats what i would do if I had a Grand right now.

exactly what do the chips do and how hard are they to install......how does the bb exhaust change the tone compared to stock

the chips (in short story) re-program the ECU (brain) of your car making it more aggressive by changing the fuel timing ect... it also changes your red line limiter and deletes the top speed limiter of the car. there easy to put in if you feel comfortable opening up the brains of your vehicle. ( i watched my mechanic do it the first time) got to turnermotorsport.com they will tell you about each individual chip for each specific car and year.
The BB exhaust in my opinion is one of the best upgrades you can give your ///M
theres not a very good way to describe the sound. look it up on youtube. BUTS ITS AMAZING:)

How many miles? I'd take part of that money to fix whatever needs it, to make her drive like she should. Bushings, suspension, etc.
The car already has a big upgrade - the HIDs. 96-99s have a software upgrade, not a physical chip. Really easy to do, you'll need a charger.
Enjoy whatever you decide.

What benefits does the CD43 Business Radio offer?

PReventative maintenance first. Start with all fluids change, front control arm bushings, rear shock mounts and rear trailing arm bushings (Anyone know if these should be replaced on my 98 convertible? everything seems tight) I know they're issues on the older E36 Ms though...

Supposedly it's a more powerful head unit and makes the sound system sound better. And of course the ability to load CDs from the driver seat.

:tsk: yooou guys. Look at all those parts.
The most important modification, without question, of all is the driver mod. Use the money on a driving school or track event, and you will not regret it. Even better, you can swap this mod into other vehicles instantly!:D
Seriously, the car at this point is probably far more capable than you are aware of at this point. Go use it.

Very true but I'll add sway bars to the list. Upgrade suspension, it makes the car way funner.

I have to agree with the swaybars, as they are an upgrade you will actually feel the benefits of, and they're also not terribly expensive (except for a couple). Other than that, go look for a driving event/school!
