Ok I'm going to replace the Flash Gordon fog lights on my new to me 328i Convertible. I've already ordered red/smoked tails for my white/ grey interior 'vert. I don'y like the red/ clear because the clear often looks too bright and plasticy cheap. So, should I get clear, smoked or yellow fogs?

I smoked my own, but it's just for looks. Some like the yellow "french" look. Why not get some Raptor 3000K HIDs from DDM and install them in your fogs. You'll have the clear lenses and yellow when lit.

Um, I think you should save some more money and buy some new heads..... Its exactly how you described the clear/red tails. Thats what id do, and get some clears.....

Oh holy sh*t what happened to that poor car? Here, ddmtunning.com is your friend. Please, please, please go get new Depo Gen4 headlights, ditch the scallops at the bottom of the headlight, and get some smoked corner light.
Then, get the OEM foglights. Leave the fogs clear. Yellow fogs are gay, and smoked decreases light output. So leave em clear.
But new headlights first.
(I'm very opinionated. Welcome.)

First things first, those fogs have got to go, ughhh! Then I have to install aCD43 or an Alpine CDE-102, headlights last but I will get to them when I get some more legal tender.

For headlights on the DDM site they ask for bulb color from 300K to 12000K, what is advised? For fogs, they ask for 35W or 55W and Bulb color 3000K to 12000K? Damn I have to spend close to $550 to get it back to reasonable shape, arghhhh! Good thing I picked this 77K baby up for $4500!

6000K headlights. Little blue tint while still being very close to white (ie, most usable light). And I'd get the same for fogs, or you could get 3000K if you want yellows. But like I said earlier, yellow fogs are gay. :p I never liked driving with them.
You don't need to get HID fogs from them, though. You could just watch the forums or go to a PickNPull and grab some OEM units and put a good white bulb in there. The OEM fogs are pretty good, and might help your wallet out some.

 If the pocket book allows, +1000.
