What do you put in...
your armrest?
the front ashtray below the HK/DSP buttons? And what is the pen-holder type thingie next to the cigarette lighter? And the clips (or whatever they are)? See pics.
the back ashtray?
your coin holder? Which coins do you put where?
the tray between the cupholders and the coin holder?
Right now, I've got a pack of gum in my armrest. I was thinking of tissue for the other tray.
I think I've officially contracted OCD with the Bimmer now.

coins - putting the ones that fit into the right holes... already made the mistake of wedging a nickel into the wrong slot

Microfiber cloth (to polish inside windshield, etc). Nothing in the ashtray, but since I don't have nav, there's a nifty little covered compartment below the CD player, perfect for my sunglasses. :thumbup: Nothing in the back ashtray, I don't sit in the back. :D Coin holder is maxed out... near to far from drivers' perspective: nickels, dimes, quarters. Nothing, since I always have the armrest down and it's covered up.

1.Armrest: my HP1900 pocket PC fits perfectly
2.Ashtray: nothing
3.Back Ashtray: nothing
4.Coinholder: filled
5.Tray: if you tear a package of gum in half (you know, the foil packs like Dentyne Ice) it fits perfect.

a. Extra V1 suction cups, fuses and lighter adapter, Altoids
b. Nothing
c. Nothing
d. Maxed out with... coins. I still have all the coins I originally put in there.
e. 1 penny. I found it in the parking lot at work a year ago, and put it in there. Haven't found time to take it out yet.

I strongly suggest you do not leave the valet key and much less your house key inside your car.
Enough people leave their valet keys inside bimmers that theives know to pop the door locks to look for them inside the car.
and the house key, well it's your call, i'd never leave the house keys in a car in case the car's stolen, they can see where you live from the registration and have the keys with them.

I keep a Swiss Army knife (one of the "max" models) wrapped in a paper towel in the rear ashtray. It is very handy for picnics and doesn't rattle either. I wouldn't store the knife there, however, if I used valets.

The circular holes are cigarette snuffers. Put cigarette in snuffer (the lit end, duh!), cigarette is starved of oxygen and goes out. The others are for holding the smoke. But, I quit smoking quite a while ago, so they have no use for me. Too bad that I couldn't get a non-smoker package.
I haven't found too much stuff to put in the car yet, except my garage door opener in the little cubby between the ashtray and the stereo.

1) cellular phone cig. adapter
2) used parking tickets/parking pass
3) nothing (used to be a candy dispenser for kids in my car :D )
4) all filled with pennies :D
5) tire pressure gauge I received when I went to BMW drivers trainning :bigpimp:

where can you order a non-smokers kit for the rear ashtray? and can you change the front ashtray also? I'd still like the power outlet... but would just likea storage tray... not an ashtray.
as for the cup holders.... where can you get replacements for that?... i don't let any food or drinks in the car (just got it and don't want to mess it up)

In the armrest I keep gum
I Pulled the front ashtray out and put my remote for my cd player in there (The thing you refer to as the pen holder, I thought that was to put out cigarettes :dunno)
The back ashtray I keep my phone charger
I don't keep coins in the coin holder, I keep them in the tray b/w the cupholders and coin holder
I keep sunglasses in the compartment right below the A/C

It's very easy to pry out the cigarette "snuffers" in the 2 ashtrays, which gives you more space, while keeping the the space lit at night. What to use the extra space for? Canadians have a lot more coins - $1 and $2, and with today's parking rates in the city, you need them more then quarters and dimes.

Ill post some pics later today, but I keep it there while im playing songs. Its not the easiest to change songs, as it is awkward to reach, but if I want to fiddle with it, i just take it out.
Here are 2 pics of the install. THe dust looks really nasty :P Regardless, I wired the aux connection under the cupholders, and connected a male-to-male wire there. I have to replace that cable as you can see the connector is so fickin long it makes it hard to shut the top (hence its diagonal)
