will I invalidate BMW's warranty?

OK... I have a PCD pick-up date of 18 May, and sometimes towards the end
of the summer, I plan on replacing the OEM tires & wheels (18" staggered RFTs on a
335I convertible) with minus sized 225/45-17 all seasons non-RFTs all around. I want to
do this to (a) improve ride comfort, (b) increase tread life, (c) have better
protection against the dreaded pothole damage, and (d) be able to rotate the tires
regularly.

So... does anybody know if doing that (doing a minus sizing AND also going to non RFTs)
would invalidate my BMW warranties and free maintenance plans??

Has anybody been denied warranty work or maintenance work due to switching to
non-RFTs or to minus sizing down to 17".

Appreciate any info you can provide.

BMW cannot invalidate the entire vehicle warranty, only the portion of it that they can prove is directly affected adversly by the size change. Downsizing to this setup is very common to do for winter tires anyway.

Many members upgrade to 19" inch wheels and tires and NEVER have any issues with warranty. You will have no problem downsizing for sure. Please keep in mind that our BMW's come staggered from the factory for a reason and we should not stray away from their set ups to much. I highly suggest just replacing your 18 inch tires with NON RFT's and you will have a completely different car and you will love your BMW even more.
