outrageous shipping cost to Canada

I ordered a few items from BavAuto, thought it was a decent price until I added up all the extra charges:

Original price $151.85 US x 1.3 = $197.40 Cdn (approx)
Shipping $31.09 US x 1.3 = $40.41
Duty $9.70 Cdn
GST $24.13 Cdn
Brokerage Fee (UPS) $41.05 Cdn <-- total ripoff

Grand Total = $312.70 Cdn

If you call BavAuto they'll ship to you via USPS if you request it. That at least avoids the ridiculous brokerage fee, and hopefully shipping would be lower as well.

Call them up and see if they'll make up a special invoice if you're ordering a lot of equipment. It'll help with the duty. Speaking from experience, UPS is TERRIBLE for cross-border shipping. They're also a pain to deal with for shipping out too but that's not what you're dealing with ;)

Tariff fees depends on the material thats imported/exported. I hate those things.
