We'll I finally got a puncture. I drove the car about 35 miles (but not below 50). Sidewall had pretty much caved in. Also, I had a bubble on a different tire that showed a pretty nice gash/crack on the inside. They had 30k miles on them so it was time anyway. First time I've had to replace 18" Hi Perf Tires $$$$$$. I was down to the wear indicators on the rears....fronts still had some life.
After reading the reviews here, on E90post & seeing the test results (from an E92 no less) on T.R. I decided to get the Goodyear's over the Pilot Sports (which I've had on my Audi and loved)
Pretty good price savings over the Michelins. I'll check back one I get them on (hopefully tomorrow). Still can't get over how crazy the price was on the Bridgestone RFT's.
Cheers

RFT<non RFT
Hi Orient,
i'm interested too in swap my RE050A RFT with the F1 Eagle Asymmetric
do you have that one or just F1? Did your 3er "tramline" with OEM RFT? And now is this effect completely gone too ???
Thanks in advance
Leo

yup, i had 18" RE050A runflats for a year. replaced with 19" F1 assymetrics
all wide performance tires will tramline. i've had tramlining since my E46 330i, the S60R, and the 335i
tire pressure is more of a factor, the super stiff sidewalls of the runflats makes it more prevalent, even at lower pressures.
i would say that tramlining is reduced, but still there. i am running fairly high pressure, 42F 44R, so that might be contributing to it.

Quick Update....
Had a few hundred miles on the tires. Pretty much what I had hoped for. Much better/smoother over sharp edges. I know they are still very new but I'm very pleased with how quiet the tires are. They are right on par with the PS2's. Hopefully they stay quiet over time. You definitely loose that sharp bite but you gain a much more forgiving ride...much less wheel hop and an overall smoothness.
