ITEM INCLUDES 4 NEW DRILLED & SLOTTED ROTORS, AND EVOLUTION CERAMIC PADS (FRONT & REAR) FOR ALL

2002-2005 BMW 745i & 745Li

PRODUCT INFORMATION

FEATURES OF EVOLUTION CERAMIC BRAKE PADS

Dynamometer tested using SAEJ2430 (BEEP) requirements for safe and fade resistant braking
Flame scorching of the pad surface to improve green (Pre-Burnish) pad bite
Ceramic pads are 100% non-ferrous so there is no steel & iron in the pad that cause annoying brake squeal
Low dust formulation
All pads come with a constrained layer steel shim with two active rubber layers to silence brake noise
Positive mold hot pressing to eliminate soft spots inside the pad
Powerstop is a leading supplier of performance brake parts since 1997 (Visit www.powerstop.com for more information)
FEATURES OF KINETIC CROSS DRILLED ROTORS

Castings are made using SAEJ431 metallurgy from ISO9000 registered foundries
Large drill holes reduce stress risers
Holes are engineered for optimum cooling to prevent rotor warping
Zinc-dichromate plating resists rust for years and provides much better protection than painted rotors
Precision machined using state of the art CNC machine for perfect fit and balance
Custom chamfered holes to prevent rotor cracking
THE SCIENCE BEHIND FASTER STOPS!
Cross-drilled rotors can improve stopping power up to 35% over stock rotors as reported in SAE Technical Paper 2006-01-0691 "The effect of Rotor Cross drilling on Brake Performance" by two GM engineers. That's why Corvette, Porsche, Mercedes, and BMW vehicles come factory direct with drilled brake rotors, i.e. not dimpled or slotted. The fact is that the drill holes greatly improve convection heat transfer and the result is more pad bite. The report also states that "it is possible to have too many holes; in which case too much cooling air would be lost before reaching the hottest part of the rotor". Kinetic rotors are designed for optimum rotor cooling and durability with one cooling hole per vane. This also provides superior strength to avoid cracking.

STOP ROTOR WARPING!
High rotor temperature can cause heat spots to form on the rotor, and this causes pulsating brakes. Cross-drilled rotors keep the brakes up a 150 degrees cooler to prevent rotor warping.

GENUINE POWER STOP EVOLUTION CERAMIC BRAKE PADS!
Most OE vehicles come with ceramic pads. Power Stop’s Evolution pads are the perfect replacement for serious street performance. All pads are made using positive mold technology for quiet, consistent braking. Pads are chamfered and slotted like the OE, and come with dual layer rubber shims.

I purchased a set of front ceramic brake pads from Advance auto parts and they work great. No brake dust at all (zero) or brake noise, the cost was $50.00. I had to order them, it took one day for them to arrive.

yeah i ordered a set of rotors cross drilled and slotted plus akebono pads for just a tad more but i cant complain, love the ZERO brake dust, only complaint was the slow break in time for the pads

i had ordered mine from a company called irotors, cross drilled front rotors and pads... up until i had the car, they performed well, gave no noise, and no brake dust...

The OEM brake pads release too much dust. It is a hassle to clean the rims when there is brake dust residue all over. I, myself will look into getting some ceramic ones because I heard positive feedbacks on them.

Brakes are pretty important. I am a big fan of ebay, but I don't know if I would buy pads and rotors unless they were OEM or from a well known after market company. Not an area where I would look to save money. Just me though. I never heard of powershop.

For the life of me I can't bring myself to purchase some of these aftermarket brakes. I have been going back and forth with the idea. I keep thinking though if everyone keeps saying aftermarket brakes don't have the same bite and stopping power as OEM. Why don't I just buy the OEM brakes and aftermarket rotors?

i had this idea of switching over to these dustless brake pads but then i heard that they dont stop the car as good so that idea just went out the window

i rather have dusty wheels than to be rear-ending a car

seven 11 think of it like this. if you are driving a big suv it doesnt stop as fast as a neon but after driving it u get the feel of the brakes and you drive the car in a way that matches the performance of the brakes, every car brakes differently. If brake dust doesnt bother you i would say stick to oem, but for me i have chrome wheels and would like them to shine for more than one day after a wash. All new cars are moving to ceramic an they are not redesigning the entire brake system when they make the switch. Even new 7s have moved to ceramic from what i hear.

my rims are the worst to keep clean. i will probably go akebono/zimmerman combo once my extended maintenance w/ bmw expires.

so i have had my new rotors and pads on for about 3 weeks 2 5hr drives to chicago and 11 hrs to bamma. I love them, brake dust is gone. I must say i havent noticed much difference in stopping at all. It took about a week 2 brake them in but after that they work great. I ended up getting 4 rotors and 2 sets of pads for 350 due 2 shipping delay. ceramic pads are a must have cant believe how little dust they give off.

Thanks for the update. $350 for cross drilled rotors and ceramic pads? Not bad...Can you post pics of the rotors?

How do I reset the rear brake service light after replacing the rear pads?

Look up "service interval reset" on this forum and you'll find it.

I used to drive a Jaguar S type, and I bought 4 cross drilled rotors and pads from ebay. They were great. No complaints at all. I had the rotors for over 100,000KM, then sold the car.
