I recently installled a new set of Sumitomo HTRZ III Summer Tires. I just wanted to let the group know that so far I am very pleased with them. First, they look great. I was worried about how they would look, but I am happy with their appearance. Second, they handle very nicely. I would say not a good as the PS2s that I had on before, but still they handle very nicely. To me (a non-expert), the Sumitomos seem to "flex" more compared to the PS2s. I suppose that has to do with sidewall rigidity? I don't know, but that's how it feels to me. The Sumitomos have great traction, but just seem to "flex" a little through tight corners. The only other slight negative is that Sumitomos seem a little noiser than the PS2s at higher speeds. I can't say for sure, but based on memory it seems that way. Overall, those differences are slight and I am really, so far, pleased with these tires, especially considering the price. Finally, I find the Sumitomos are great in the rain. We are getting plenty of rain here in NJ and I haven't noticed really any difference between the PS2s and Summis. I think on tire rack the Sumis have a "so-so" rating in rain, but my experience has been they hold really well. I drive my car hard, even in the rain, and the summis have been very stable and grippy. Anyway, that's my seat of the pants assessment from a laymen. I give them a

Glad you like them! I might need some for my m3 and will be considering these as well. They are Z-rated right?

Great tire. On my 540 I had toyo proxies and yokohama advan sports. Both were Y rated, 180+mph ahaha.
The Sumitomos are great and are just slightly less grippy than the toyos and yokohamas. They stick well in the dry and I have yet to have a problem in the wet. Great tire for a Great price.
