Hi Gary,
I spoke to roger (ext. 627) about getting some tires and he pointed me into the direction of the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus (link) (http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Michelin&tireModel=Pilot+Sport+A%2FS+Plus&vehicleSearch=true&index=0&frontTire=445YR9PSAS&rearTire=74YR9PSAS)
These tires have excellent ratings by tire-rack and reviewers, but it's the issue of the 4MPG loss that is bothering me. I have Kuhmo tires on it right now (same size as the Michelin) and according to tire-rack specs, they are the same weight. Being the same weight and also being UHPAS, will I have this MPG loss? Also is there any way to return them if I have the MPG loss and am not satisfied? Are there any other tires I should consider?
Just some background information:
I live in Daytona Beach FL, so we have no snow. However, we do have temps dip into the 20's during the winter and the 7 is my daily driver. As well I drive a 50:50 mix of highway and city; about 120-150 miles a day. I like to drive the 7 in a spirited manner sometimes and like a nice comfortable ride when relaxing. As well I need something good in the rain because these kumho's were dangerous with the v12 in the rain, I would slide around with the slightest touch of the gas-pedal and it made driving nearly deadly.
