I was just curious whether anyone has pictures of their E36 with smoked taillights or corners. I was contemplating smoking the lights on my 93 325is but wasn't sure how it would look on an older car. Aslo, I'm deciding between sand & paint or film and am wondering if anyone has experience with either. I would be more than thankful for any input

As far as pics go the "Show off your e36" thread and google image searching for e36's are both great ways to get idea's on what you may want to do to your car aesthetically.
As far as sand/paint vs. film, i have no personal experience, but i know people who have done both, and neither of them brought up anything about it being tricky... if that helps. lol

Here's my old M3's pictures. Scroll around. Smoked corners, tails, fogs.

The tails came smoked. The corners and fogs I smoked with film. I hate spray tint.

The corners and sides in my opinion aren't dark enough though. I ordered smoked ones than tinted them.

Talk about a let down. I thought by the title that the taillights were smoking.

There are pics of mine on page 60 or 61 of that thread. I have smoked corners and side-markers, and partially smoked tails.

:lmao: I thought "taillights" was street slang for a new strain of pot.

Oh, and to the OP. The film is ridiculously easy. I had zero experience with tint/film and when I read the instructions, I went ahead and installed em. The only problem I had was the first strip I installed, I accidentally folded a small corner of the film so it double layered (if that makes any sense).
Other than that, it was very simple and I'd rather have film than spray on because its removeable. My internet is still out, so you'll have to wait for the pics (unless you wanna check my album on my profile). Thx

I did Nite Shades on everything except the head lights (smoked Lamin-X, available for all lights).

I don't think I could have asked for a better response. I fuond a couple places that sell the lights presmoked and you just have to install tehm but for cost efficiency i think i'm going to use a film like the one from that link. I love what I see in the pictures, thanks guys.

missmodena: those are huge heals, where are the pictures with you in them ;)
to op: what color is you're car? i think that will play a big part on how its going to look as a whole with smoked lenses. i am not a particular fan of them either way, but completely blacked out lenses on a black car is kind of tacky in my opinion. i like what 95blacke36 has going on though

Ah that would be awesome! If you find some, lemme know where cause I want a pair too! I have some pink ones with white polka dots but they're no where near as cool as those would be. Need red though, pink doesn't match my car anymore. :(

A little late on the response, but my car is red, it still has all the crappy grayish rock protector stuff on the bumpers and side skirt.
Also, i'm considering ordering a pair of pre smoked corners on ebay due to the fact that they're the same price as the clear euros, but i'm worried that the smoke won't be the same darkness shade as a product such as lamin-x. Anyone with experience would be most helpful
