Putting a bra on my car

So unfortunately when I bought my car last summer I had a bubbled up rust spot on the very tip of my hood that the previous owner did not take car of. over the Winter it has gotten pretty bad. I brought my car in to have an estimate done but its going to cost any where from $600 to 700 no matter what I do. So I was going to grind it down and repaint as best as I could and put a bra over it so the paint difference couldn't be seen. does anyone at all have a picture of a bmw with a bra on it at all? I can't find one no matter what I do. I only want the one that covers the end of the hood(not the one that covers the whole front end of the car)

Surely cheaper to just buy a new hood and get that sprayed? Thats a high quote?! That or head to a scrap yard and find a new hood same colour and save you the hassle- get one same age and the colour difference will be minimal or none existant is ya lucky....

I have seen a hood only bra, one of the e36's that parks in the same vicinity as me. he(maybe she) doesn't use it all the time tho, I'll snap a pic if its there tomorrow and on. it actually looks just fine, but its a black bra on a black car, and its hood only, so not much of a bra at all. (maybe he custom fabbed it out of a full front bra... you could certainly fab a hood only bra out of a full front one if you can't find a pre-made hood only)

and a big +1 to chads pic. after I read the OP that was the first thing that came to mind haha

That would be awesome man. I have an alpine white e36 and I am trying to imagine it and I think it would actually look good. I just don't wanna spend a hundred buck on it and have it be a waste of cash. Oh and phantom, priceless dude :rofl:

Eh. Well. I'm not really fond of anything that disturbs the lines of a beautiful car, up to and including rag tops, so you can see where I'd say I'm not diggin it. BUT, its not that bad, and if the damage is severe, then the bra will be better than a big glaring icky spot.

I actually bought one today. Just type in google your year and model and then bra after it and a bunch will pop up for you. The main brands are colgan and labra. I ordered mine that way today. Or just punch that same info on ebay. Either way I ended up getting mine from bavauto I think
