Can anybody tell me the 0 - 60 and 1/4 mile times for a stock 2009 BMW 535i with sport package? I purchased one last month and am curious about exactly how fast this car is.

The car is exactly as fast as you've been driving it. That said, the brochure puts it at 0-60 in 5.6s. 1/4 mile = I don't remember.

0-60: 5.2

"Recent acceleration tests confirm how closely matched-and fast!-these sedans actually are. In a November 2006 comparison of four luxury sedans, we hustled a 550i to 60 mph in a scant 5.2 seconds, a feat we accomplished exactly one year later in an all-wheel-drive 535xi in 5.4 seconds. With nearly 300 fewer pounds, we surmise that the rear-wheel-drive 535i would tie the V-8 model (which, by the way, isn't available with all-wheel drive) on the drag strip."

Thanks for your replies! I was actually curious because my brother-in-law just got a used 2001 Honda S2000 and I wanted to know whether our 535 was faster. I know they are totally different types of cars, but I would love to know that we could kick his a$$ in a friendly race.

Bruin, check out this great website - it lists the 0-60 times of all cars made that are 7 seconds or less...
http://www.performancecarnews.com/Fastest-Cars-0-60.asp?Process=ShowTable
Based on this, the 535i can easily handle that Honda.

Awesome, thank you! Can you tell I'm new this car stuff? My husband can't be the only one with all the information!

WTF...
2008 535i 0-60 5.1 seconds
2007 550i 0-60 5.4 seconds

The 535i time of 5.1 has an "*" by it. The site says..."Vehicles with an "*" after the model name indicate that complete information is not yet available. In these cases certain data may be based on estimates. "
I agree, it is a tad faster than reality...unless it had a Juice Box installed. Then, its about right. :^)

The 1/4 mile time is a better way to tell how fast a car is.

Stock vs Stock the 550 will outrun the 535 on the top end easily. That large V8 will overtake in higher mph.
Now drop a JB3 in the 535 and thats a different story.

Meh.. 0 - 60 or even to 75 is all that matters really especially here in the US where the max speed limit is between 70 mph - 80 mph and you don't have to constantly worry about troopers hiding in the median waiting for some fool to speed :)
