Looking at the lack of posts in here, I think this is going to be a very quiet thread, but might as well give it a shot.
Who do you guys use to get parts from in Australia, or do you just order from directly from overseas?
By parts, I mean things like tail lights, sports bumpers and engine parts (both replacements and upgrades).
Also, tuner is something I need to look for too...
I haven't looked around too much in Sydney and will be looking for someone soon :)

all depends on the car, and what parts your looking for
i have an e30 and in my experience it's just been replacement parts which i have gotten from the wreckers easily and cheap, i also did a rebuild on the motor and got all the parts from a company called retorque, but that was all pretty much stock so i dunno about performance parts
if you post up what car your looking for it'll be easier to get information because there are heaps of parts available overseas from america which are cheap especcialy when we have a good exchange rate

Oops, my apologies for the ambiguity.
I am looking at the E39 530i/540i. I find it so hard to choose. I know the 530i's are much more popular here, but... horsepower! Handling could be fixed too...
I would look at getting some odd little trinkets first I think - things like the LED tail lights (if it doesn't already have them), HiD headlights with angel eyes, change the back colour of the dash (seen some nice looking white ones with chrome rings) and a sports body kit if I end up getting an executive. I would prefer the sports model for obvious reasons (saves me some work), but NRMA will jack up my annual insurance by about 200 AUD because it says 'sports'
Obviously some of those things aren't too hard to get (dash), but the tail + head lights would be bad and I imagine the body kit would be horribly expensive (just did a quick look - from the UK it is 200 pounds).
I looked up Retorque. It looks like they are based in Tamworth. Did you just use them to get the parts or did you take it up there for them to do?

Genuine parts you can try BM spares or peninsula BM (both BMW Wreckers)
Mods etc try ebay...ie" direct import or for a good body kit, tail lights etc try Car Shine in Tullamrine, Victoria check out the website...www.cashine.come.au i think it is.
Cheers!
