Rego Inspection - $18 For a BULB! & P/S Problem?

Rego is due tomorrow, so I got my pink slip rego inspection done today!

They failed it on a rear park light bulb and charged me $8 for the bulb and $10 labour to fit it - Rediculous!!

...They also mentioned to me that I had a leak in my low pressure power steering hose - and would cost $300 just for the part! I havent noticed anything different in the power steering! Has anyone else had this problem!?

They cleaned the "leaking pipe" and charged $31!

And I was sat in the "waiting room" for alomst 3 hours...

...Can it really take that long to swap a bulb!

$18 for a bulb is absurd, but at least it's not a lot of money. The hose....wtf? It's probably just the old clamps, not the hose itself. ROFL at $300 for a hose....that's madness. :lmao:

i wouild clip the factory clamps off and put a real hose clamp on.
After changin my P/S pump i had problems leaking and it turned out to be a hose that i overlooked. And the clamps they got on there are one time use only. so it seems like they can weaken after time.
If yours is actually leaking i would narrow down to the area and check the hose yourself. and replace the clamps.

Why were they automatically allowed to fix what they say is wrong? That's a bit silly, and a waste of money.
