members,

i was driving last weekend and all the sudden flat tire warning message came on. so I parked the car and checked out all tires and seems fine... it does have run flat tires... can you not be able to tell if the tires are flat by just looking at the tires? they are not low at all...

so I got back in the car and reset the message and continue driving....
the message never came back on. checked the service message and it is telling me that everything is ok.

is this normal? anyone had similar situation? should I get the tires checked out?

Did you check the air pressure with a gauge or just by looking at the tire. It can be out of air and still look inflated. Although it would prob have shreaded by now if it didn't have air. Could have been a sensor error in the ABS module. Best thing to do is reset it like you did and keep an eye on it.

No, the best and proper thing to do is get a tire gauge and check your tires at least monthly and don't rely on the TPMS. If you are down enough, 3-4 psi, for the TPMS to go off, without checking air pressure and just resetting it, all you did was reset the benchmark for the TPMS to activate at a lower set point. :nono:

Yeah I meant the best thing to do if the tire pressures check out fine with the gauge and not just looking at them.
