Hi, my name is Joe; and I do not currently own a BMW.
I am however, considering purchasing a 2007 750 LI. Well, I am actually lusting over one after test driving a 2009 750 LI. Elegant, refined, luxurious, spacious, and powerful.
Although I am pouring through all of the related threads on this site, I really need advice and guidance.
Thanks,
Joe Sollin

Welcome.
The BMW limo is quite a jump from a Prius, though I can understand perfectly why you'd want to do it. It's a great car - but it's also a lot of car, and in more ways than one.
When you buy a Bimmer, be prepared to pay for everything that goes with BMW ownership. They are not cheap cars to own. A lot people don't take the long view of ownership, especially with the newer ones.
I assume you're buying a CPO - get the best assurance package (warranty) you can afford. It will reap dividends in the long haul if you intend to keep the car longer than a couple of years. Take a good look at the maintenance costs. Consider how much gasoline will cost for such a large car. There are fewer sights on the road as pitiful as seeing a BMW owner (especially the owner of a newer car) driving in the summer heat with their windows open. There are usually two reasons for doing that: A malfunctioning climate control system (which they can't afford to repair) or they're trying to improve their fuel economy (Bimmers, especially the big ones, aren't the most economical city drivers).
Far as I'm concerned, any BMW is a thrill to own and drive - I've owned some pretty old ones and enjoyed them as much the brand-new one I owned - but it ultimately comes down to perspective and style, I guess. Good luck!
