Hello all,

I am in the process of purchasing a 2004 BMW X5 with 85,102 miles. The car is in IMMPECCABLE SHAPE by the looks of it, as it is coming straight from a BMW dealership. My only issue is whether or not to put na outisde extended warranty on the SAV?? Any suggestions/advice would be greatly apprecited. Especially if any of you can recommend a good and reputible outside warranty company!!!!

Thanks for your help!!!

Hi, I baught a second hand X5 at the dealership 3 years ago, with 85'000km, they promissed me a factory BMW Europlus waranty. I renewed this waranty (for 2 years more ) this spring when I made the 142' km mileage service, standard maintenance. Now I have 2 problems with this car, there is an oil leakage, beetween the engine and the gearbox and i have a whistle noise on the top of the front windshield. It seems:) the waranty will not pay the repair of these problems ???? so be very carefull, when they promise you something, and be sure that the mileage beetween the services is correct ! kind rgds :)

Go OUTSIDE dealership... cannot give you a name right now, but MUCH more encompassing and MUCH cheaper!!!

You definitely need a warranty...no doubt about it. only thing is all the great outside extended warranty's are through dealer only. I had a GM warranty on my x5 and they were GREAT...OMG. I practically got the entire care replaced for a $100 deductible.
