After 4 years of good service out of my '87 325is I've hit a wall. 3 days ago I had to crank it an unusually long time to get it started in the morning. Ran great all the way to work (approx 10 miles). That afternoon, same problem but ran great great all the way home except one burp sitting at a light. Now will not start at all. I'm getting no spark from the coil but the coil resistances check good. Voltage to the coil reads OK. I'm getting no failure codes from the computer and the check engine light never came on while I was driving it. Temps are in the 80's. This is driving me nuts. Is there some way I can trace this further back to find the problem? I'can't figure why it would have no spark for starting but run smoothly when running! Never saw a problem like this before.
