Hey fellow aussies, Wondering of you would like to share any spare parts location links here in the forum?

Reason I ask is I contacted my local BMW Service Center to have the ribbon replaced behind the pixels in my instrument cluster as 80% of them are not working. The 1st phone call response I got was "Oh that cant be done,we can only replace the whole instrument cluster for you." Cost $2500 + labour :(
Then the next day..."Sure that will cost $500 for 3hrs labour + $150 for the ribbon.
So after searching Ebay ...Ribbon $85 and waiting just 5 days for delivery, I then did the repair myself in 2hrs(would take less now that I know what I am doing).

Another quick example during a service at BMW Service Center: 2xElement Micro Filters $264.00. Ebay.... Two original OEM new from Germany including postage $105.

We all know Ebay is a good place to start but how about places with BMW parts and experienced trades people like...Wreakers, Mechanics, SpareParts, Electricians, Panelbeaters etc?
Maybe you have a story to share of a good or bad experience to?

Where do you live? Lintrex is a place where I go get most of my stuff... there is another place here in Perth though that does cheap BMW parts also. Normally pay a fair bit less than dealer pricing. (Radiator shroud I got for the same price as dealer, but trans filter E39 523i $80 or so)
