I recall the chestnut not being so red in real life. Looks much redder on pictures.

In any case, awesome ride, Andy, looks great. Now you have to suffer through break-in.

What are the break-in recommendations for a diesel? Like under what RPMs do they want you to stay?

Enjoy it, man!

EDIT: How's the in-cabin sound with the diesel? Louder than you expected? Does it sound good?

It doesnt look as red as it does in the pics but it is still pretty red. More red than brown. Probably 70/30
The break in is 3,500 max rpm or 93 mph. It says drive at varying engine and road speeds. But doesnt say cycle through gears but I assume thats what it mean.
I havent done that though.
This thing has some serious power. Taking turns and it just launches you into the seat.
Sport seats are wonderful, suspension is a little rough on some of the construction roads here.
The iDrive is really amazing with no lag what-so-ever. The iPod adapter is nice and clean.
I like folding the mirrors and the lumbar support so the premium is really nice and I cant get over that interior. I love it!
I never really use the paddles either but maybe after the break in, I'll find a use. With all the power you never really go over 2200rpm and it shifts nicely.

Nice ride andyffer!
Just retrieved my 335d after European Delivery in June and PCD two days ago. I almost went with the black but decided to go dark blue with the oyster and light burl. Looking at your black and chestnut makes me envious, however. On the other hand, I'm not one to keep the black dirt-free and polished. I agree about the slight stiffness, the efficiency of the iDrive, and the nice mid-range torque. It's a might sluggish off the start if you are used to a sports feel, but the diesel will respond well when pushed. I did gear down some during descents in the Alps in Austria and the tranny is smooth.

That leather looks like coral red to me, more pinkish. No where near brown in color.

Are the photos that far off? :dunno:

That seat color looked red to me as well when I saw it in the showroom. I almost got it.

Congratulations!

Glad to see another diesel on road - particularly a very classy one. Excellent combinations - dramatic - and rich.

Very nice selection of pics.

There is a newly forming diesel interest group - if you get the chance sign up and post your pics there.

And share your new diesel knowledge with the others.

Cheers - and enjoy the summer !

335d the most fun you can have without a V8! Congrats. I had one as a loaner and it will be my next car, or the x5d. All the torque and over 20 mpg. ENJOY!
