Yes, it is. It was tested in Germany.

That's impressive for a 5000+ lb cruiser.

What also impresses me is that a sunroof is not even offered. An article I read mentioned something about them wanting to preserve structural integrity. Considering sunroofs' popularity these days and their luxury clientele, that's a little surprising.

LOL! I read the whole article, at top speed the fuel consumption is 60.1 Liter /100 km, that is roughly 3.9 MPG :yikes:

:D

All things considered...that fuel consumption is not that bad!

On 23 August 2003, there was no such thing as a GENERAL AUTOMOTIVE forum here.

Weight doesn't hurt top speed (if tires can handle it), and many Bonneville racers add weight for traction, especially in stock classes without aero aids.

What's the big deal about having a sun roof? I like the pretty view of the sky and extra light it brings in. What I want is a seat that goes lower to clear my helmet.

Yeah but at that speed you can get from Los Angeles to Las Vegas in 1.5 hours. But you must stop ~15 times for gas. :thumbdwn:

Somewhere Stuka is drooling. :D

So do some AMG/Brabus/what have you. :dunno:

Why would I want a car that any one hand at 12 o'clock blingers can drive?

Well, they need to drive slow so you can check out their mods.

Dunno about the grandpa's though.

Top speeds don't impress me anymore. All it takes is horsepower, gearing, and a low drag motor. It took them a twin-turbo 48-valve 6.0L motor to go that fast, yet its a dog around town because of the weight. My neighbor's beater '84 Trans Am broke 200mph with a naturally aspirated 16-valve 6.7L V-8.

Put it on a road course (or a twisty road), and an M3 would eat it for lunch. On a smaller track, my 330Ci would show it taillights.

Dunno about the grandpa's though. Yes you are right, checking out the mods is a good thing... And I told my wife I would always look at the mods too..., she said look but do not touch...:D
